Your Bio

“If you love something, set it free; if it comes back to you, it’s yours, if it doesn’t, it never was.”

That’s my story in a nutshell. I fell in love with photography in College. Back in the day of manual cameras, darkrooms and black and white film. I set my love free to pursue a career in the family business, marriage and children. After all of these years, with two children in College, and two step-children in High School, I’ve found more time on my hands and the return of my first love in life – taking pictures.

After growing up in Bethesda, Maryland, I studied photography at Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio. Learning the technical aspects of the camera and print processing has been a bonus for me in this new age of digital imagery. I’ve spent the last decade fine tuning my skills and knowledge in an effort to portray creative, inspiring, and unique images.

I strive to take the mundane, ordinary, or often overlooked things in this world and transform them into a piece of art by capturing spectacular views, unusual angles, creative compositions, and vibrant colors. Looking through my lens, I wish to create photographs which elicit an emotional connection between the image and the viewer. For me, this means taking the viewer to places they may have been before, yet never quite seen in this way – or, producing an image that transcends one’s body and mind and let’s one be in that moment, in that place; hearing the water in the rushing stream, feeling the wind on one’s face as it blows across the mountain, imagining the history of that old building, or gaining the peace, tranquility, and serenity of a calm and silent morning in nature.

I hope that you too will find my pictures transform you in some way or take you to a place you’d like to be.
